One of the many things I love about life in Seattle is the fact that you can get to one of many beautiful Washington beaches in just a few hours.
Of course, we have our little mini get away beaches here. There is Alki Beach just across the bay, and Golden Gardens Beach Park in Ballard about five miles from downtown Seattle.
I'm talking about some of the longest strands of seaside beach with ocean waves, crabs, jellyfish, sea lions, boardwalks,salt water taffy, kite shops, the works!
A trip to Long Beach Washington is always a fun get away. About one hundred miles from our state capital Olympia, Long Beach proclaims to be the longest beach on the western coast.
With twenty seven miles of drivable beach, it is one of my favorite getaways!
I love to walk for miles with my husband and our best four legged friend. When we get hungry we head to Long Beach Town Square and order up some of the best clam chowder you can find anywhere. Then, back to the beach to wait for sunset...
This is one of my favorite spots, a cove below Cape Disappointment bluff. Here comes the sunset...
Shades of orange, yellow and charcoal rocks with salty waves splashing against them filled my senses with sheer joy!
As it gets darker, the colors get louder before we drift into darkness...
So much beauty abounds on our pristine Washington beaches.
